Monday Motivator (on Tuesday)
Posted by A.E. Rather, Motivator followed the historical path of the holiday from the city where it was first proposed (New York, in 1882) to the city where it was ratified as the national day of non-laboring that we know and love today (Washington D.C., in 1894). Although she found that many traditional D.C. workers were on holiday (senators, groundskeepers), for many others--from museum guards to train conductors to Labor Secretary Elaine Chao, who was all over the news--Labor Day was just another Monday. Who else works on Labor Day? Here's a link to a list from The Washington Post.
