I recently wrote an article on Blogging Baby Steps for MarketingProfs
and thought many folks here might appreciate it as well. It has jumped
to one of the Top 5 Most Popular articles spot on the site and i've had lots of
personal feedback on it. If you haven't seen MarketingProfs before, it is a treasure trove of info and one of my
favorite resources (next to Sales & Marketing Magazine, of
course!!).
Here are a few of the highlights:
- Key terms—what's your expertise? Define it.
- Identify the top blogs based on key terms.
- Build search alerts with those terms.
- Set up a comment tracker.
- Read the blogs related to your expertise.
- Post where your expertise is relevant.
The site truly provides a ton of value at the free member level and premium membership has been worth it for me, even before i started writing for them. Their daily newsletter almost always contains an article that i click on to read. They do a fantastic job of making the site fast and easy to navigate, too.
